The Junior Guardian After-School Program is a new initiative to Eastern Maar Aboriginal Corporation (EMAC) which will form part of the Junior Guardian Program.
It is for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander high school students who are enrolled in high schools within Eastern Maar Country.
It will be a fun and educational program which will include a whole range of activities.
It will run once a fortnight from 4.30pm – 6pm.
The day of the week is yet to be confirmed.
The aim of the program is to assist students with their schooling as well as provide opportunities for students to learn new skills or build on any existing skills whether it be academic or non-academic skills. It will introduce students to a whole range of subjects, including different work fields for students to discover what may interest them the most, exposing them to possible career pathways for their future and learning valuable life skills. Some sessions will include science, cooking, creative art sessions which can include cultural workshops as well as providing academic support and so much more.
