ATTENDANCE IS OPEN TO ANYONE RECOGNISED AS FITTING THE FOLLOWING EASTERN MAAR PEOPLES NATIVE TITLE GROUP DESCRIPTION

  2. Old Jack (father of John Dawson)
  3. Charlie and Alice (parents of Albert Austin)
  4. Samuel Robinson
  5. Mary Caramut
  6. Lizzie (mother of Frank Clarke)
  7. Robert and Lucy (parents of Alice Dixon)
  8. Barney Minimalk
  9. Nellie Whiturboin
  10. Louisa (mother of Williams Rawlings)
  11. Richard Sharp

Who:
(i) either identify as being from the eastern domain of the Maar speaking people and are recognised
as being from the eastern domain by the Eastern Maar people; or
(ii) otherwise identify as Maar, Gunditjmara, Tjap Wurrung, Peek Whurrung, Keeray Wooroong
(Kirrae Whurrung), Kuurn Kopan Noot, Yarro Waetch (Tooram Tribe), Djargurd Wurrung, Gulidjan
and/or Gadubanud and are recognised as being from the eastern domain by the Eastern Maar
people.

PURPOSE – ITEMS OF BUSINESS

ITEM 1: ELECTION OF EASTERN MAAR’s RESERVED SEAT MEMBER ON THE FIRST PEOPLES’
ASSEMBLY OF VICTORIA

  1. HEAR from prospective candidates on the day about their skills, experience and
    qualifications and what sets them apart from other candidates (Candidate information will
    be provided to each attendee on the day of the meeting).
  2. Upon full consideration of each candidate ELECT Eastern Maar’s reserved seat member on
    the First Peoples’ Assembly of Victoria through the nominated election process.

ITEM 2: UPDATE ON STATUS OF ‘AREA C’ FEDERAL COURT HEARING.

  1. HEAR from Eastern Maar’s legal team regarding the Court hearing (set down for the 8th May
    2023.)
  2. PASS any necessary resolutions to give effect to decisions arising from 1, above, including
    AUTHORISING any necessary changes to the native title claim.

ITEM 3: UPDATE ON NEGOTIATIONS WITH BEACH ENERGY

  1. HEAR an update on the status of negotiations with Beach Energy in relation to Project
    Enterprise.
  2. HEAR from Harry Houridis (RPS) who is an environmental consultant that the
    negotiation team has independently engaged to review the environmental materials
    prepared by Beach in respect of the project. Harry will explain the environmental
    assessments that Beach has undertaken and talk about whether there are any marine
    impacts from the project.
  3. ASK Harry questions at the meeting.

IMPORTANT
There is a preference that people attend the Authorisation Meeting in person.
